The legislative capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is located in the Malaysian state of Selangor. He shares the role of capital in Putrajaya which houses the judiciary and the Executive and is considered the administrative capital of the country. Kuala Lumpur is a city of almost 2 million people and races, cultures and different religions live together in it: since the Malays native from the peninsula to the Chinese and Indians, the two main colonies of immigrants, and the Europeans, mainly British, since Malaysia was a British colony until 1957, when it became an independent State of the British Empire. These populations today join migrant workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Burma and other nearby countries, who work mainly in the North of the Malay peninsula tea plantations and in construction. The main religion of Malaysia is islam, although in Kuala Lumpur are also practiced Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity, among others.
